2 Timothy Chapter 1 Verse 1 - 2

****NOTE Please read the scripture from the Bible first for this is God's word****

Here we have the apostle Paul speaking to Timothy. Paul is basically telling Timothy to go out as he has and teach the Gospel to faithful ones, and the faithful ones will tell others. We are focusing on the fact that we have been given a commandment to go out to all nations and teach gospel, and this happens by means of multiplication. This is the kind of routine where I will two friends, and those two friends tell two friends and so on and so on. Why must we do this?

It is a sobering fact that people are dying everyday and going to Hell. Let us look at Revalation 20:10 which tells us what hell is "Rev 20:10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night forever and ever ". You always hear family's when they gather at funerals talking about the deceased individual and how they are now in a better place. Are they really? The bible does tell us how we can know for sure where we are going and this is what we are supposed to be teaching. Lets look at a couple of verses that give us the indication how we can know for sure. Lets look at what Jesus spoke of in John 14:6 "Joh 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." Jesus is the ONLY way to father, we must believe on him, trust him, and understand that he is our savior. Lets also look at Romans 6:23 "Rom 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Notice the Gift from God is "Ethernal Life" not death which means you will get to spend ETERNITY with God instead of eternity burning in a lake of fire. Some people believe in purgatory, I challenge you to pick up a bible and search for the word purgatory IT DOES NOT EXIST!!! Its either eternal life (Heaven) or eternal death (Hell) where do you want to spend eternity?

We are to go out and teach all people the gospel or good news. Teach that Jesus died for us filthy dirty sinners. Many people around the world worship things like the wind, the sun, the waters, little fat men, dragons, and plain and simple just false gods. Some religions don't teach about salvation, as I grew up I was always taught to be a good boy and given good morals and grew up to be a pretty decent human being. You want to know something disturbing? If I would have died before April 26th, I would be spending eternity in a lake of fire. I was not taught the gospel because of "tradition". Lets read Ephesians 2:8 - 9 "Eph 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Eph 2:9 Not of works, lest any man should boast." We are saved by GRACE not of WORKS. We can't possibly do anything to save ourselves. No matter how good we try to be, we won't make it to heaven, we must accept God's gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. It's funny how we as humans tend to worry about trivial things like who will win the football game this Sunday, or when will I ever get out to the golf course, or I wish I had more time to sit down and do my hobby. How much time do you think about salvation and spreading this good news? How much time and effort do you put forth towards learning about the only thing in this life worth learning, about God and His word, and His commandments? How many of you have the desire to share this with the ones you love? Those of you with extra time on your hand, how are you spending your time, wasting it, or using it wisely in a way that God would want?

At the church I now attend we have a mission statement. It reads "Be a disciple - Make disciples - Make Disciple Makers. That's exactly what Paul was telling Timothy. We need to teach others, and so that they can teach others, and also teach others on how to teach. I can use the example derived from my own testimony. To make a long story short, I lost my job last year and was guided by God to work at UTI. I then met a gentleman named Michael. He lead me to the Lord, as I am now saved. We didn't stop there, we continued as we started hosting a bible study at work, and would continually meet to learn God's word. Unfortunately Michael was laid off, but his mission was fulfilled because I have enough knowledge to go forth and teach somebody the gospel.

I challenge all of you to really sit down and think about this. Where are you going to spend all of eternity? We think in human years that 100 years is a very long time, that is a mean blink of an eye compared to eternity. Do you want to know who Jesus is? Do you want to know for sure that you are on your way to heaven? The bible teaches all of this, this isn't something that is made up by a board of popes or members of a cabinet, the bible was "God breathed". Please it is never too late, if you have questions call me, email me. If you think this doesn't apply to you, let me remind you, we are condemned the minute we step foot into the world, lets read from Romans 3:10 "Rom 3:10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:"

If you are ready to accept Jesus, you can pray the following prayer. The prayer itself is NOT magical, it is merely something you would pray to God when you are ready to accept Jesus as your savior. If you are TRULY ready pray the following with the utter most sincerity.

Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner. I know I deserve the judgment of Hell. But I also know that You paid my judgment when you died for me and rose again. The best I know how, I'm asking You to save me from sin and Hell. I am placing my dependence only on You to forgive my sins, credit Your righteousness to my account, and give me eternal life. Thank you Jesus, for saving me.

Remember, share this with someone that you love, or even a co-worker, or the mailman. The world isn't full of people, it is full of souls and God's commandment is to witness this to others.
