Spiritual Condition

****NOTE Please read the scripture from the Bible first for this is God's word****

Today we will focus on our spirituality. What is your spiritual condition? Are you broken down? We must be aware of our spiritual condition at all times.

Why?
  1. Because before salvation we are completely broken down. (Romans 5:12)

    • (Romans 5:12) explains that by one man (Adam) sin was created and the burden of sin was passed on to all of mankind. I like to think of this as "spiritual DNA". Now you may think as I used to think, that when babies are born they are so precious and innocent and how could they be sinners? However if we look at (Psalm 51:5) David explains that he was born in sin as we were also born into the slavery of sin.

    • We are broken down because we don't have our Lord God in our lives. We think that we can turn over a new leaf and be kind and jolly, and help others, but if we don't accept Jesus as our savior, submit our lives to our Lord and place all of our dependence on him we will never be fixed.

    • (Genesis 2:17) If we read this scripture we see that God forbid Adam and Eve to eat of the tree of knowledge, that if they did they would surely die. They didn't physically die, the idea of dying was a separation from God and mankind.

    • So you may ask, how does God fix me? The answer is simple. We must believe ON the Son of God our savior Jesus. Notice I did say "ON" not in but ON (1 John 5:13). You see, we can believe in anything, this the equivalent to believing that something exists. For example some people believe in God which merely means the believe that God exists. The idea of believing on God or Jesus is that we place all our dependence, trust, and faith on God and Jesus our Savior, we submit our lives to him as humble servants. As in (2 Corinthians 5:7) We need to walk by faith and not by sight.

  2. Because after salvation we can break down. After I was a born again Christian, I struggled and still struggle, there is a voice in my head that always tells me "What if all this is wrong, what if you are doing this for nothing." I know that satan is very active and working double time to do what he can to prevent me from being in the presence of God, but I must stay strong in my faith. I use that as a motivation to do more for God, and to pray more.

    • (2 Corinthians 5:15) Because you have you to battle. As silly as that sounds, when you come to a believing faith in Jesus Christ accepting God's gift to us of salvation in return for repentance of our sins and life of servitude to Him, we will always be in constant battle with ourselves. Temptation is strong and will sometimes pull us away from God, but we must pray and continue in God's presence, our faith, trust and dependence in God will carry us.

    • Because the world battles against you. (1 John 5:19) You see in todays world we have all gotten used to the way that our society functions. Even though it may seem normal to us, it is very wrong and displeasing to God. For example, divorce in our society today has become a normal everyday thing, however, God did not intend for marriages to end by divorce because of a financial issue or because of adultery, God wants us to work things out and repent before him and work on our marriages. You see marriage is a gift from God, not to be taken as an insignificant event. The world is wicked and will pull you away from God.

    • (1 Peter 5:8) Satan has used many instances in our society to cause temptation such as Hollywood and entertainment. Satan will do whatever he can to prevent people seeking God and being in God's presence. So we must be vigilant and alert to avoid spiritual breakdown.

  3. I challenge you to look in your hearts and figure out what you are. Are you a broken down soul that needs to be fixed, needs to be saved? Or are you a saved soul that needs to be alert? If you are the first kind of person, needs to be saved, I urge you to contact me ASAP, I would be more than eager to go through God's plan of salvation with you so that you can be 100% sure your sins are forgiven and your eternal home will be in Heaven with God our Father.
